The Uncanny Similarity!

Here’s an interesting thing which came across my mind. This is definitely in connection with the on-going national elections or can I call it the national cat fight. The thing is we all by now; know who the probable Prime Ministerial candidates are for the next five years. And we also know that they are not below the retirement age. So we have candidates in their 80s, 70s and 60s. These men and women are supposed to be mature, experienced and understand the needs of the country well.
Now think about this, we are progressing to a state where all the youngsters are there to rule the game. Youngsters mean definitely within the age group of 50. This is only because you call Mr Barrack Obama a young President at 47. So what happens is one of these matured and experienced leaders calls the younger leaders “bachcha”, who are their opponents. Hmm! And like the ever-supportive lady Mrs Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, may be these politicians consider themselves “jawan” (young), that’s why the others are bachcha!
This made me think and recall about the other chaotic government ruling the country, our very own BCCI and the Indian Cricket Team. Are we not facing the same problem there as well? Rulers of BCCI ask the seniors their ages, remind them every now and then (especially when they do not perform well) and ask them to make way for the ever-waiting juniors. Isn’t this the same situation??? Here people shout that young players should be given a chance to prove their mettle and seniors should willfully give a chance to them. But we still have senior pros and junior contributors playing as a Super-combo team.
Then why not hope for the same in case of our country as well? Let the seniors netas give their expert opinions and make way for the young leaders to execute their fresh ideas.
What do you say?

Pens or keyboards?

Hello,
I was just now reading an article on how keyboards are slowly replacing the habit of handwriting. This is something which I have been experiencing myself for quite some time. Since childhood, I was asked to take care of my handwriting and make it look good always because it fetches good impression from people who read it. I even received an award for the “best handwriting “in school. My mother especially has been very particular about this. But as time passed by, computers and writing with the help of keyboards have replaced this. Whenever I dream to write something, whether it is my research paper or any article for my workplace, I do not imagine myself using those pens which I longed for as a child but the keypad in my laptop. Surprisingly, even my professors want us to submit papers in printouts rather than handwritten stuff. Well, I do not know whether I should be calling this a technological advancement and progression towards a new faster world or losing out on the opportunities to show my handwriting and using different colourful pens for writing them. I myself cannot differentiate nowadays, which one is easier and faster also. Using the pen or the keyboard? Though we can’t deny the benefits of using Microsoft Word while we write (it checks your grammar and spellings immediately and saves you from getting those red marks) but what about those times when you are in a meeting and need to jot down notes? Ahhaaa…..you need pens there. So thankfully, you cannot replace the pens so easily! At least, I won’t, not in the near future. Because “pens have been mightier than the sword” and will continue to be.
